Locker Use Agreement

Lockers are the property of The King's College. Each secondary student is provisioned and assigned a locker and required to enter into a Locker Use Agreement. The security of each locker and its contents are the sole responsibility of the student assigned to that locker.  Please read the terms and conditions below, then sign and submit this Locker Use Agreement. The agreement is for the duration of enrolment in Secondary School.

I/we agree to the following with regard to the provision and usage of a school locker:

  1. Only the student officially assigned to a locker has the right to use the locker. Students may NOT switch their assigned locker without the prior approval of the Deputy Principal Student Services, Head of Year, or a delegated staff member such as their own Pastoral Care teacher.

  2. Students cannot enter, or attempt to enter, another student's locker without permission and only in extreme circumstances. Students who breach this will be subject to consequences in line with the behaviour management system.

  3. Each student will be provided with a padlock and will be able to set their own 4-digit combination. The College will have a master override key. The padlock will remain the property of the College and will need to be returned on the student’s last day for the year.

  4. Should a student lose their padlock for any reason, the student must immediately report it to Student Services and the family will have to pay the replacement cost of the padlock which is $30. The padlock will remain the property of the College, and no replacement lock will be issued until proof of purchase is received.

  5. Any damage to lockers must be reported immediately to the relevant HOY or Student Services officer. Failure to do so will result in consequences issued in line with the Behaviour Management Policy.

  6. All lockers are the property of The King’s College and are assigned to students for their temporary use for approved purposes only. All lockers are subject to periodic inspection.

  7. College senior staff may, without warning or student/parent permission, search a student’s assigned locker.

  8. It is the responsibility of each student to keep their assigned locker clean and orderly.

  9. The student device (iPad or MacBook) leased from the College MUST be stored in the student’s locker (not in their school bag) when not being taken to class. The device should not be stored in a locker over the weekend or holidays.

  10. Students should not bring valuable items that are unrelated to school except for their mobile phone. Phones must remain in the locker and switched off between 8:25am-3:10pm. The College does NOT take responsibility for any property missing or stolen from a student’s locker, including but not limited to their school device or mobile phone.

  3. I will immediately report any damage to my locker or lock, or that my lock has gone missing to Student Services.

  4. I understand that if my lock is damaged or goes missing, I (or my family) will need to pay $30 for a replacement lock and proof of purchase is required before the lock will be replaced.

  5. I will not use another student’s locker or let another student use my locker. I will not enter or use another student’s locker.

  2. The consequences for breaching the Locker Agreement will be determined in accordance with the Behaviour Management Policy.
